We are a farm that has free-range cows. We work with cattle that are pure and mix breeds of Simmental/Simbrah since 2002. We also work with other means in a subsistence way (like chickens, blackberries and our garden for our own consumption).
In the various aspects of production we try to be friendly with the environment, whether in alimentation, facilities or waste management, we seek ideas that reduce or mitigate any impact on nature.
Animal Welfare
In our farm, we try to apply good agricultural practices by taking into consideration animal welfare aspects in our production. We believe in the five freedoms adopted by the Farm Animal Welfare Council in the United Kingdom. This freedoms are (CIWF Trust 2006):
Freedom from thirst, hunger and malnutrition: by ready access to fresh water and a diet to maintain full health and vigor.
Freedom from discomfort: by providing a suitable environment including shelter and comfortable resting area.
Freedom from pain, injury and disease: by prevention or rapid diagnosis and treatment.
Freedom to express normal behavior: by providing sufficient space, proper facilities and company of the animals own kind.
Freedom from fear and distress: by ensuring conditions that avoid mental suffering.
